Virtual Support

We know with COVID-19, supporting CitySquare looks a little different right now.

You can support us from the comfort of your home while practicing safe social distancing.

Below is an overview of the unique ways you can support CitySquare during

this time or use the buttons above to help you navigate by category.

Have a special program you support? Under each opportunity,

the program beneficiary is listed.

As you share your knowledge, time, and resources to fight poverty alongside us, please remember to celebrate your efforts and successes, and don’t forget to tag us. Share how you’re fighting poverty today!

  1. Follow us on social media.

  2. Snap a photo of your remote volunteer experience and share why you fight poverty on your social media accounts.

  3. Spread the word to your friends, and don’t forget to tag us @CitySquare and use #CommunityNeverStops.

  4. Then, on the final day of Dallas’ social distancing mandate, we’ll draw names from everyone who tagged us and award some fantastic CitySquare swag to our winners!

Please email volunteer@citysquare.org for details on any of the above remote volunteer opportunities or dev@citysquare.org for details on the donation opportunities.

Camps & Kits

CitySquare has a wide-range of in-kind needs right now to support our neighbors across programs - from our unsheltered neighbors moving into a home to the youth we're serving through afterschool and summer feeding programs, there are multiple ways to support our programs by creating camps or kits.

Create a Camp

You can create a camp tote at home and help kids have a great summer! Our CitySquare Food programs offer meals and fun camp-style activities by bringing along a tote full of items such as hula hoops, sidewalk chalk, balls, simple outdoor games, water toys or balloons, markers, crayons, and more. If you’re able to shop locally, please double your impact and support our city’s small businesses.

Grocery Bag Collection

With our increased food distribution, we have a need for more grocery bags! Each set of food distributed to a neighbor uses 6-8 bags. Collect plastic or reusable grocery store bags for use in our drive-through/walk-up food pantry. Rally your neighborhood to help with a posting on NextDoor or your local Facebook group or ask friends and family to leave them on your doorstep.

TRAC Food Boxes

Our TRAC drop-in center provides snacks and ready-to-eat meals to our youth, such as Rice-A-Roni, microwave meals, canned chili and soups, Vienna sausages, Kraft macaroni and cheese cups, Cup O’ Noodles, and Chef Boyardee. Protein-rich and healthy snacks are popular with the youth like bagged tuna kits, peanut butter, beef jerky, granola bars, apple sauce, and individual bags of nuts.

Homeless Outreach Kits

Create a kit that our Homeless Outreach Team (HOT) can share with our neighbors experiencing homelessness. CitySquare HOT visits our neighbors to ensure they have access to resources and opportunities, while also helping find them housing and shelter. During their outreach,  they also provide kits with bottled water, wet wipes, protein-rich snacks, sunscreen, and bug spray.

Welcome Home Kits

What did you need when you moved into your first college dorm or apartment? Our formerly unsheltered neighbors who move into their new home usually do so with only the clothes on their back. Welcome Home baskets include essentials to make their transition easier. High need items are shower curtains and rings, kitchen appliances, dishes, and general cleaning supplies.

Cleaning Buckets

For many of our neighbors cleaning supplies are luxury items, and with today’s focus on personal hygiene and cleanliness, these items are needed now more than ever! A simple cleaning bucket with gloves, an all-purpose cleaner, toilet bowl cleaner, and a cleaning sponge goes a long way.  CitySquare staff will distribute these immediately to neighbors in need in our housing programs.
