The Manager of Communications is part of a 7-person development team. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, highly-organized leader with a minimum of four years’ experience in fund-development marketing for nonprofits (special events, annual fund campaigns, planned giving, media relations, etc.) including end to end designs of marketing projects. This individual can design and implement a social media strategy (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Blogs) and has the ability to develop and implement goal-oriented short-and long-range communications plans employing a variety of media including direct mail, both print and electronic newsletters, website content, social media, etc. in support of CitySquare’s fundraising and/or community outreach projects. This person must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, including copywriting and editing for projects ranging from newsletters and appeals to annual reports, website content, etc. This person must be able to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment and be able to collaborate well with CitySquare department directors and program staff.
Education: Bachelor’s degree required in marketing, communications, public relations or other related field.
Experience: Four (4) years of experience in marketing, fundraising, and/or development.
Additional Requirements: Bilingual in English/Spanish helpful. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with some evenings and weekends for events. Talented at communicating in writing, in person, and over the telephone. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, or other design software. Knowledge of CRM software.
