Position Summary
Destination Home is a Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) Program that provides housing and supportive services through intensive case management to chronically homeless individuals with a disability. The Housing Certification Specialist (HCS) will provide oversight of the Destination Home’s housing compliance database system; assist staff in completing neighbor intakes, annual recertifications, and ad hoc updates during the year specifically working with participants in tracking income and occupancy charges. This person is responsible for providing accurate monthly rent invoices to the Assistant Director for processing. The HCS will coordinate with case managers to procure all necessary participant documents to maintain compliance with federal laws and grant agreements and update the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and maintain high data quality standards within the software as well as the participant’s physical chart. This position will maintain meticulously detailed records of participant income, occupancy charges, recertification completion, and lease information as required by HUD. Maintain current knowledge of U.S. Code of Federal Regulation specifically related to HUD Continuum of Care program requirements.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree in non-profit administration, social services, or a related field, is required. Education may be substituted for additional experience.
  • Experience: Two (2) years’ experience in non-profit management, preferred three (3) years’ experience in customer service, working with the homeless preferred. Previous experience with housing programs preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Lean or six sigma certifications preferred but not required.
  • Additional Requirements: Must be proficient in MS Excel with extensive experience using complex formulas. Ability to work occasional flexible hours as requested. Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation with valid insurance. Willing to travel to program sites within Dallas County. Willing to work with chronically homeless individuals with disabilities (physical, mental and/or substance abuse) who may or may not have criminal backgrounds.
