food recovery kitchen attendant
The Food Recovery Kitchen Attendant will assist the Food Recovery team in the recovery of otherwise wasted food and safely transform it into healthy meals for our community. They will work in collaboration with other team members including AmeriCorps members, volunteers and trainees such as AARP to prep, produce, package, label, store and distribute food for the Food Recovery meal program. They are responsible for the overall cleanliness of our two commercial kitchens including but not limited to washing dishes, sweeping, mopping and organizing raw materials.
Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience: Prep cook and/or dishwashing experience preferred.
Additional Requirements: Ability to attain a Texas Food Handler’s Card. Ability to work independently on some basic job duties and work flexible hours including some weekends, as requested. Ability to purchase a kitchen uniform including non-slip shoes. Maintains Texas Operator’s License and able to meet the driver certification requirements of CitySquare (21 years of age or older) preferred.
