POSITION SUMMARY
As part of the food programs team and working closely with the Food Operations Manager and Community Relations Manager, the Food Pantry Volunteer Coordinator will handle all elements of food pantry volunteers and assist with other volunteer and personnel elements within CitySquare. This includes scheduling orientations, maintaining public listings, processing application/background checks, and maintaining accurate records in Volgistics. The Coordinator is also responsible to assist with community engagements such as attending volunteer fairs and providing tours of the CitySquare Opportunity Center. This position will be cross-trained with food pantry, other food programs and other development functions. While reporting to the Food Operations Manager, the Food Pantry Volunteer Coordinator will spend much of his/her time in the food pantry connecting volunteers in that capacity. (S)he will assist the Development team with other donor relations, events, tasks, and communications as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred; nonprofit management, marketing, public relations or related field preferred. Relevant experience may be substituted for education requirement.
Additional Certification: Must have a valid Texas Operator’s License and able to meet the driver certification requirements of CitySquare.
Additional Requirements: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with volunteers Tuesday-Saturday, and other weekday and evenings as needed. Ability to be a team-player and assist in other areas within the department: events, tours, fundraising, research, and other tasks as needed. Strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to successfully plan and implement volunteer opportunities and work independently. Ability to turn volunteers into donors. Ability to write and produce reports, business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in a knowledgeable manner regarding CitySquare programs and operations. Ability to create and maintain relationships with program staff in order to offer on-going or one-time volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups. Experience with de-escalation techniques preferred. Knowledge of Excel and Word, PowerPoint and Publisher helpful but not required. Knowledge of Volgistics, Efforts to Outcomes or a similar database also helpful but not required. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
