This role provides financial coaching for neighbors who are enrolled in CitySquare’s Financial Empowerment program. The Coach will work to help neighbors build assets with the goal of securing a more stable and prosperous financial future for their households. The Coach will serve neighbors mainly within our WorkPaths training programs, though they will serve other CitySquare programs, and will use financial coaching techniques to help neighbors with their individual financial goals such as savings, debt reduction, credit building, banking access, and tax issues that affect the working poor. The Coach will work collaboratively with other CitySquare programs, Opportunity Center partners, volunteers, and the larger asset building network in the community.
- Passion: Coach must be passionate and competent in areas of personal finance and have the ability to teach financial principles to the working poor population.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Bachelor’s in Social Work, Financial Management, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: One to five years of experience in case management, working directly with the working poor population, substance abuse, re-entry and/or homelessness or one to five years of experience working directly in the area of asset poverty providing financial coaching, career/credit counseling.
- Additional Requirements: Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Must have basic computer skills. Ability to work occasional flexible hours as requested, including some evenings. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
