The Forest Theater Director of Development will create and implement a philanthropic strategy to meet the designated financial goals and milestones to restore the Forest Theater and support the ongoing operations. This includes all philanthropy efforts, communications, event planning, and grant management. This strategy is to include the creation and management of annual campaigns, a capital campaign, donor relations, donor acquisition in the Arts and Education field, planned giving, and major gifts. The organization will look to the Forest Theater Director of Development to provide expertise, innovation, and creativity in every area of development to connect donors in order for the Forest Theater and the citizens of South Dallas to sustain and propel the mission forward in years to come.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university; an advanced degree and professional certification in fundraising are preferred.
Experience: 5-7 years of demonstrated fundraising experience within the nonprofit sector. Leadership of a multi-million dollar capital campaign is preferred. Excellent interpersonal and “friendraising” skills required.
Additional Requirements: Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, Project and Outlook. Ability to multi task in a fast-moving environment and to work independently is extremely important. Occasional over-time and flexible hours may be required. Access to reliable transportation.
