The Dallas Connector Project (DCP) Transportation Specialist reports to the DCP Coordinator with the goal of providing safe, reliable transportation services to low-income income individuals, many of who are experiencing homelessness. DCP Transportation Specialist will operate a vehicle equipped to transport up to 25 passengers over a 26-mile route up to 5 times daily. The specialist will also transport individuals as needed as a part of the program’s on-demand capabilities and may need to transport passengers during inclement weather situations. The goal of this program is to assist low-income and/or homeless individuals who need no-charge transportation services to and from pre-determined locations for the purpose of accessing services and securing documents for housing and employment. He/she will maintain all transportation schedules, make sure their vehicle is clean, safe, refueled, maintained, repaired and secured. Passenger safety is of the utmost importance. The DCP Transportation Specialist will follow all policies and procedure outlined in the CitySquare Employment Handbook regarding the safe operation of vehicles belonging to CitySquare.
Education: (Must be able to read and write English)
Additional Requirements: Must have a valid Class C Texas Operator’s License and be able to meet the driver certification requirements of CitySquare (21 years of age or older and have a clean driving record – no outstanding traffic tickets). Must have current CPR/First Aid certification or acquire certification within the first 12 months of employment. Must have reliable transportation to and from the location where DCP vehicles are parked daily. CitySquare employees may not transport passengers in their personal vehicles or use CitySquare vehicles for personal use. Ability to work occasional flexible hours as requested. Must be able to operate a mobile phone using calendar and navigation functions.
