Exciting opportunity for an energetic, creative & entrepreneurial culinary professional.
Hands-on Chef Manager is responsible for the café and catering experience. He/She will drive the culinary program of CitySquare Café. The Chef/Manager will be responsible for menu development, food production, catering, pricing, procurement and financial oversight including the point-of-sale system and related reporting.
She/he will manage all areas to ensure a consistent, quality product is produced and delivered. Responsible for guiding and developing staff. Will develop, implement, and maintain standardized café, catering and kitchen processes and procedures according to industry standards. He/She will be responsible for the ongoing compliance with all safety and health department regulations and guidelines and efficient and effective storage and rotation of all inventory.
The Chef Manager will work with other City Square programs and develop new community partnerships that further the mission of City Square. She/He will be an expert and advocate in the field as well as an innovator who continually seeks out improvements to both process and outcomes.
He/She will work closely with the Director of Hospitality as the café, catering and kitchen will operate as an extension of the existing hospitality WorkPaths training program. Program graduates selected for internships in the café, catering and kitchen will have the opportunity to develop skills in a fast casual setting.
Education: Culinary arts degree preferred.
Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on progressive culinary and kitchen management experience required. Catering experience preferred.
Additional Requirements: Comprehensive knowledge of food & catering trends with a focus on quality production and presentation preferred. Able to communicate with different audiences, including executive management, program participants, donors, and industry leaders.
