Chief Advancement Officer
CitySquare is seeking a Chief Advancement Officer to join in the fight against poverty.
For more than 30 years, CitySquare has been fighting the causes and effects of poverty through service, advocacy, and friendship. Based in Dallas, Texas, last year the organization reached more than 57,000 neighbors (not clients) through an integrated range of financial, educational, employment, and income support services delivered through personalized, one-on-one coaching.
CitySquare is a 501(c)3 organization that in 2019 was recognized by the Dallas Morning News as one of the 100 Best Workplaces in Dallas.
With the significant growth of the organization and the desire to more heavily invest in its advancement efforts, CitySquare now seeks a Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) with responsibility for all philanthropy efforts, marketing and communications, contributed revenue, event planning, and grant management. The Chief Advancement Officer is responsible for strategic fundraising for the organization, which includes annual campaign, capital campaign support, donor relations, planned giving, and major gifts. This person leads, manages and provides direction in all initiatives of the department.
In order for CitySquare to sustain itself and propel the mission forward in years to come, the Chief Advancement Officer will provide expertise, innovation, and creativity to connect donors to the organization.
Essential experience of candidates:
10 plus years of demonstrated fundraising experience that includes eight years of development management in the nonprofit sector.
Strong evidence of previous fundraising success at scale – setting fundraising strategy and securing major gifts.
Favorable experience leading and developing staff.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university; an advanced degree and professional certification in fundraising are preferred.
