CitySquare AmeriCorps places members in three focus areas: Education, Food Security, and Social Services.
Applicants are encouraged to apply early to be considered for a position. Applicants are considered on a rolling basis until all positions are filled. Qualified applicants will be contacted by the CitySquare AmeriCorps office via phone or email and invited to an interview session.

How do you want to serve?
Members serve with one of our nonprofit, summer program host sites in Dallas during the summer months to support youth in their academic engagement and growth in social emotional skills. Summer members serve 300 hours (40 hrs/wk) and earn a living allowance of $2,300 and an education award of $1,311.11. All summer education positions start June 14, 2021 and end August 6, 2021.
Social Services Positions
Social services members provide assistance to vulnerable individuals and families through case management, housing support, homeless outreach, workforce training, etc. Preference for these positions is given to applicants pursuing a degree in social work or a related field, and some positions may fulfill internship requirements for social work/psychology/public health and related majors. Members serve 450 hours of service (32-35 hrs/wk) and earn a $3,000 living allowance and a $1,638.89 education award. The summer term starts May 10, 2021 and ends August 13, 2021.
Food Security Positions
CitySquare AmeriCorps places members in food pantries at CitySquare and other partnering nonprofit organizations working to improve food security in the greater Dallas area. Members can also be placed in the CitySquare Food Recovery program, preparing healthy meals to reduce food waste. Food security members serve 450 hours of service (32-35 hrs/wk) and earn a $3,000 living allowance and a $1,638.89 education award. The summer term starts May 10, 2021 and ends August 13, 2021.
CitySquare Food Mobile Meals Program: CitySquare Food provides free meals to children using a mobile program design. Members serve 300 hours of service (30-35 hours/week). Members earn a living allowance ranging from $2,300 to $2,800 (depending on position) and an education award of $1,311.11. The summer term for CitySquare Food Mobile Meals starts June 1, 2021 and ends August 13, 2021.
Please note – the minimum qualifications to serve are:
High School Graduate (17 or older)
U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (deferred action does not suffice)
Able to pass a criminal background check
A commitment to make a difference
What’s the Education Award?
The Segal AmeriCorps Education Award is a benefit that AmeriCorps members receive upon successful completion of their term of service. The award can be used to go to most colleges and universities or to repay qualifying student loans. Click here to learn more.
