AVP of Economic Vitality
The Assistant Vice President of Economic Vitality is responsible for overseeing the WorkPaths, Financial Empowerment, and LAW Departments at CitySquare. The AVP’s primary responsibility is to advance existing program models and build effective internal and external partnerships to promote the availability of adequate income supports and financial stability for our neighbors. Primary responsibilities tasked to this role include, but are not limited to, advancing strategies that increase employment placement and retention for neighbors, life and workforce readiness, and neighbors’ economic stability; along with legal representation/advocacy. This role will include engaging with employers, training institutions, financial institutions, legal institutions, colleges, and universities throughout the community in order to provide low income and underserved communities with job training/employment and additional income supports. He/she will oversee the execution of a training and employment strategy that will successfully meet the needs of both the employers and the unemployed while also providing the tools and resources to achieve resilient livelihoods from revenue flows and sustainable income. The AVP will oversee all training and job placement processes; from candidate recruitment, to job training, to job placement, to readiness. He/she will negotiate and manage the contracts held with training institutions and schools. He/she will also supervise the day-to-day operations across all departments which includes various administrative and operational responsibilities.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business, Public Administration or a related field is required. Master’s degree in Business/Management/Finance/Operations Management or a related field preferred.
Experience: At least 7-10 years of experience in workforce development/social enterprise.
Additional Requirements: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Must have a valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation. Must be able to work occasional over-time and flexible hours as requested.
